We have learned from China’s in many ways by how they have controlled water in the past. They learned how to end an occasional water shortage by using rice field space on hills instead of on the flat ground, saving water for people. Also, China devised a solution for dealing with water pollution (which was obviously forgotten because of the huge amounts of pollution in their water today), and we learned from them. We have learned from Chinese failures as well. 60% of Chinese drinking water (mainly groundwater) is polluted, while only 40% of our American drinking water ( mainly river water) is polluted. We also learned from China about water demand. Chinese water supply is on a downward spiral while their water demand has gone steadily up, but in America, supply is unchanging while demand is only inching forward. We have learned from China in many ways, and plan to learn more in the future.
